I hate text speak. And in Australia "dat" and "d" (for "the") are sweeping the texting world (is that happening in America too?). I hate it! I adore t's, why are people boycotting them?

I try to remember to spell check or read over my blog posts. But I often forget - I am sorry.

First of all, thanks for the follow on Twatter...I promise to be as witty and lucid as possible at all times (or at least a raving bitch) so as not to bore you too much.

As a writer, I find it funny that I walk both sides of the line. My major was Literature/Communications so my grammar is usually spot-on, and I'm one of the few who actually reads back what I wrote in an email or such, BEFORE hitting the "send" button. And yet oftentimes, when I write for my blog, I will indeed write the way I speak. I'll use things like "cuz" and "gonna" because they are comfortable words for me, conversational words, pedestrian words. I think, in the end, the goal of a good writer is to connect—to hit a nerve, whether good or bad. Language is the map, not the territory.

Then again, I always get a good laugh when I get an email from a client telling me they need some "PIECE of mind". Stupidity should be painful.
